Oral family history states my gg-grandfathr, Samuel M. SHAW was a member of the 14th TX Cav (Johnson's Mtd. Vols). SHAW and his family actually lived in Craighead County, AR, but he shows up on NO Arkansas military file. There is a SAMUEL M. SHAW in the 14th TX Cav. Distant cousins say that he died in Georgia of yellow fever, but did not know mil. unit. My SHAW'S parents were William and Polly (Moore) Shaw, who, in 1860, lived in Obion County, TN.
