Interesting little story about my visit to Sabine Pass Battlefield about 15 years ago. Being a civil war buff I used to search civil war battlefields with my metal detector. I was outside the battlefield fence property and ask this local Cajun gentleman if I could hunt on his property and he said 'sure'. He said I could hunt in their garden that had just been turned. His daughter came running out of the house with a coffee can full of minie balls. He said whenever they dug and turn the garden they often found these lead bullets. Man was I in my element. Sure enough I got readings and dug a few. They also had found some yankee eagle buttons. Just thought I would share this little story. Eddie Webber
