I am looking for a sword from a Lt. White from the Texas 32nd regiment that was found after the battle of Spanish Fort, Alabama in April of 1865. My great grandfather fought for the Union and found this sword after the battle and returned it to the family years after the war was over. I have checked with the Confederate museum in New Orleans, where the sword was supposedly donated and they informed me that it was not in their possession. I have also checked the LA. State Museum and the Texas Civil War museum and they told me that they do not have it either. Any ideas, where this sword may have landed up.
