There's a man named Hardy Billington who is buried in Southern Illinois. His headstone is a private family type stone. An autobiography of him states that he served in the 18th Texas Cav, Co I as a 1st Lt. In 1860 he was living in Robertson Co., TX.

I can't seem to find him in the Soldier's and Sailor's System under various spellings.

Would anyone know what Regiment, etc. that Hardy served in, or perhaps what regiments were from Robertson County so I could narrow down the search?
