Re: McCord's Frontier Cavalry
In Response To: Re: McCord's Frontier Cavalry ()

I am looking for information about Pvt. W.D. Doggett who served in McCord Frontier Regiment. In 1860 he was serving with
Thomas J. Johnson a son of Col. Middleton Tate Johnson
a Texas Ranger who was influential in founding of
Fort Worth Texas. I know he served with J.J. Dix and
Captain Hyman Edgar after the WBTS started. He was at
Fort Inge and along the Rio Grande. When the Regiment was changed to the 46th Texas Cavalry many men were sent to Fort Belknap under Buck Barry. I need to find out if Doggett was
on any rosters for that area. One of his relatives was
married to Oliver Loving and is buried in Weatherford
Texas along side Oliver. She was Susannah Doggett Loving.
We have also been told he was with the rangers when they
went to the Pease River and recaptured Cynthia Ann Parker.
Can anyone help me.
