Ms King,

Do you know for sure that your ancestor was in the 22nd Texas ? If you have never done so , go to www.itd.nps.gov
then fill in the blanks for his name , unit ( the 22nd Cav) , state and then you can call up the information that will tell you how to get to his compiled military service record. It will give you Film # and Roll # and then it will ghive you directions for how to order it.

You can also go back to the "Regiment" page and get a short historical summary of his regiment. If you want more info on the 22nd ( Hubbard's Infantry), go to Dr Ken Jones super website , www.tarleton.edu/~kjones/
Then scroll down to the section on Texas in the Civil War and look for your man's regiment. There, you will probably find a history of the regiment . Also , it will provide you with a bibliography that you can look inot if you are so inclined.
Hubbard's Regiment ( 22nd Texas Infantry) ) was part of Walker's Texas Division . They were know as Walker's Greyhounds and they were a tough fighting unit who saw plenty of mischieve ( combat) in the Trans-Mississippi theater.
Good Hunting .
Best Regards,CAM
