It appears that the NPS Soldiers and Sailors System has "improved" their site and fixed it where you cannot merely put the surname in the query and pull up every soldier in any regiment with that surname. Earlier, I could put only the surname and Confederacy and it would pull up everyone with that name in the Confederate army! Now you must have the full name, first and last and the regiment just as it is in the NPS system or you will not get any results. I wish the egg-heads in the federal government would quit "improving" things.

Now it is nearly impossible to find someone in the NPS system unless you know their regiment and their full name as it is listed in the NPS system. The NPS Soldier and Sailors System is full of mistakes and duplicate names with different spelling or with different initials. I finally found one of my great grandmother's brothers under the name Blanten rather than the correct name of Blanton! My great grandfather is listed twice with different initials.
