http://www.rootsweb.com/~txkerr2/ I meant to send this genealogy link yesterday,but forgot. The dates I gave you were taken from this site. From what little I read about hin,his family was pretty well known in Texas. The Handbook of Texas,Online shows that the community of TivyDale,TX. was renamed from Bunkestville or Pumpkinville to TivyDale for him. He donated land their local school was on. If I understood what I read(LOL)his grave site was owned by his family. If he was that well known in Texas,the State Archives in Austin,Tx. may have something about him. If he was mayor,that would probably made him leader of county or state milita and not eligible for regular CSA service. So the rank would have been bestowed by the state.---Russell
