Re: Henry Porter of Quantrill's Guerrillas

Strangely, I had not heard about the plane crash, or I forgot it. The Brumbys own the Marietta Daily Journal, just north of Atlanta. I believe the publisher was in the Roy Barnes gebernatorial administration; something to do with education. Back in the late '60s I was a regional distributor for the Neighbor Newspapers, an advertising branch of the Journal. I went off to make a movie, and got out of the "news" business. Glover is another prominent name in Cobb County History. The family gave Marietta the land for the city square. They also ran the Glover Machine Works, which made small locomotive engines. My Grand father worked there, and my father started there when he was 13. The city water works is on the Glover plant land. All the wooden patterns, etc., became part of the CIvil War and Railroad Museum, in Kennesaw. Stan
