Galveston Blockade Runners

OK Civil War experts of Texas, I'm looking for information about blockade runners that settled in Galveston. A friend of mine has a Confederate sword that belonged to a blockade runner that lived in Galevston. My friend's grandfather had bought a house in Glaveston when he was a child and while exploring the house he went up to a cupilo on top where he found this sword. His grandfather said it must have belonged to the previuos owner of the house who was a blockade runner during the war and let him keep it. This runner must have been successful because the house was very large and survived the the big hurricane. I'm told it still stands but was divided up into apartments. I'm not sure if my freind will ever remember the address since he is quite elderly, other wise we would do a deed search to see who owned the house at that time. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
