Re: Confederate Pension Records

OK--I have Company Muster-in Roll cards for the 26th Cav Texas-Bolivar Point, dated Oct 13, 1861 to Oct 31, 1862. From what I can understand from the cards he served under Major S.B. Davis. Then I have a Company Muster Roll card for Jan and Feb 1864 for 26 Cav. Co. F, Debray's which states "Absent" and under remards says "Detached Marine service Sp. Order no. Hd. Qro Dist of Texas June 2, 1863. On another card dated Oct 22,1863 Galveston Tex. Marine Service by order of Maj Gene Magruder. Remarks "Special Order" I have another report form Oct 23, 1863, Marine Dept of Tex. Capacity "Firman", What boat J.F. Carr.

Here is another statement "having been transferred to the Marine Services by Special Order no. 172. Head Quarters District Texas, New Mexico and Arizone, dated Houston, TX June 26th 1863."

Was he transferred into the Navy or just "borrowed" as you suggest?
