Searching for letters, journals, and other personal and public documents referencing the life of Maj. George Washington Chilton (1828-1883), who was born in Kentucky, and lived in Alabama before settling in Texas. A delegate to the Texas Secession Convention, he later served in the Third Texas Cavalry and later became ordnance officer on the staff of Gen. Hamilton Bee.
