I'm trying to figure out where in the world he may of been living, what county, to join at Palo Pinto County, so I might find him on a census.

His name was John W. Newcomb, by 1880, but I've found his name spelled Newcom, and Newcum, on court records/Palo Pinto County, after the Civil War.
