Re: Information on Antone Miller
In Response To: Information on Antone Miller ()

Dear Robert,

It's rather late this evening, so I'll be short, but perhaps others can weigh in on your question.

It appears your Antone Miller was a member of Capt. Watts Cameron's Company of Texans. This same Watts Cameron later appears as a member of the 9th (aka, 5th) Kentucky Infantry. Also, included in Company "H" of this unit is one "Anton" Miller.

How they became a part of the 9th Kentucky, I don't know. This unit fought at Shiloh, Perryville, Murfreesboro, Chickamauga, etc. and were a part of the famous "Orphan" Brigade.

I'll be interested to see what others have to say about this Texas connection with a Kentucky unit.

Hope this helps,

Jim Martin
