Re: 11th Regt. Texas Vols. VA Nov.1861

As far as I know there were only 3 units to go "east" and serve w/Bobbie Lee. The 1st., 4th, and 5th, Infantry Regts. Harold Simpson's book "Hood's Texas Brigade,Lee's Grenidier Guard" is the only book I know of that addresses these 3 units. "Band Of Heroes" covers the Grandbury's Brigade of the Army of Tenn., "Second Texas Infantry" covers that unit, and then there is "Walker's Texas Division" which covers a number of other Texas units. It never states which units were with the division, when, and how long. The 11th Texas cav. unit was dismounted and fought as infantry for a number of engagements. Someone may have more to add but hope these three books will help. It has been a number of years since I read them so I have forgotten a great deal of detail.
