Re: Madison's Reg't Texas Cavalry (Phillips') - CS

In general the information is correct, except the 5th, 7th Cavalry we never in the brigade. They were part of the Sibley/Green's Brigade. The "Arizona Brigade" never actually served as a "brigade" together. The 1st Cavalry, Aza. Brig. served in Indina Territory and like you said the 4th Cav., Aza. Brigade only served on the Texas Frontier. The 2nd & 3rd Regiments were sent to Louisiana in May of 1863. They were brigaded under Col. James Partick Major with the following units: 2nd (Baylor's) Cavalry,Arizona Brigade; 3rd (Philip's)Cavalry, Arizona Brigade; 1st (Lane's) Texas Partisan Rangers; 2nd (Stone's)Partisan Rangers; Arizona Scouts (independent Scouting Company made up of Men from Arizona Terr.) They served as a brigade under Major & W.P. Lane inthe following Campaigns:

Lafourche Campaign 1863
Tech Campaign 1863
Operations on the Texas Coast 1864
Red River Campaign 1864
Southeast Arkansas late 1864

My link of the Arizona Battalion below, on the Combat History, generally follows the same combat history of the 3rd Cavalry, Arizona Brigade from 1863 to 1865. Use that as a reference for the combat history of the Phillip's regiment.
