I am working on a regimental history of the Thirty-third Ohio Volunteer Infantry and I am seeking information on Captain D.M. White of the 10th Texas dismounted Cavalry. Brigadier-General Joshua Sill (who organized the 33rd O.V.I.) was killed at Stone's River (Murfreesboro). His sword was recovered by Captain White who, according to Ohio records, returned the sword in 1891 at a reunion of the Thirty-third Ohio. The sword is currently on display in Chillicothe, Ohio.
Any information about Captain White would be appreciated.
