The Bayside Historical Society of Bayside, Refugio County, is planning a reenactment of some aspect of the Civil War actions on or around Copano Bay. Besides the Union raid on St. Mary's, the Battle of St. Joseph's Island in May, 1863 conducted by Hobby's 8th Battalion is a possible military action capable of a reenactment.
