The map I was looking at indicates the airport is now in the area where Massard's Prairie battlefield was located. It appears that the only part of Massard's Prairie that remains undeveloped is between Chaffin Jr.High and Hwy.22, which is the site of the Massard Community. A housing subdivision is encroaching on the east side of the land that was the eastern part of Massard's Prairie.
