OK folks, we have a lady over on the Louisiana board who needs some help confirming her belief that the C.F. Formby listed in Company H of the 17th Louisiana Infantry is in fact her ancestor Columbus Franklin Formby who was known to have moved to Cass County sometime after the war.

He and his wife Allie are listed as members of the Salem Baptist Church in Cass County and I believe he may be buried in what is known as Salem Cemetery in Queen's City, Cass County, Texas.

If anybody has information on this man or can do a lookup in this cemetery please post here. A local SCV Camp contact may help also.

Please note: We have checked both Louisiana and Texas for a pension application but none came to light. I have no way of checking the indigent families list for Texas. Would this show his service connection?
