Confederate burial "trench" in Minden, Louisiana

November 11, 2006 Minden Cemetery Association will be
having their yearly "Ghost Walk: A living history lesson."

As stated in the Shreveport Times, Oct 9, 2006, one of
the areas that will be noted is the area known as the
"trench", the remains of 21 Confederate soldiers are
buried there. All died of wounds received at the Battle
of Mansfield, which was fought in April 1864.

The Minden Chapter of the United Daughters of the
Confederacy erected a monument to these men in 1936.
The only known soldier buried there is Pvt. Thomas L.
Anderson of the 31st Texas Cavary.

Tours start at noon and last until 4 PM, cost is
$10.00 adults, and $4.00 children younger than 12.
