Re: Morgan's Regement Texas Cavalry

And I say bless all of the Civil War history nuts. I am one too.
If you run on any from Arkansas, please let me know
especially if it says 8th Arkansas or 36th Arkansas.
I have never found more than 10 men from the 8th as they went east early and fought so hard in battle they were wiped out. Two different men have a book in the works on the 8th Arkansas.
My gg grandfather Pearce of the 8th should have died at Shiloh but was close enough to home that his brother came out and picked him up, nursed him back to health and on the 4th of July, Sgt. J. D. Pearce sat out walking to catch up with his men, in Kentucky I believe.
The 36th Arkansas surrendered in Texas with Kirby. Another gg grandfather was Sgt. Pleas H. Loyd who I know so little about served with the 36th, made it home to Arkansas and died shortly after.
Proud to say all of mine that were close marched with the Confederacy.
Texas men are buried close to where I live, maybe 15 miles north from me in an all Confederate Cemetery. Disease wiped them out.
Good luck and God bless you all.
