Re: Grave of Captain John A. Teague

If the John Teague you're looking for moved from Haywood Co., NC and had a wife named Abigail, I may be able to help a little. Census records show him and family in Haywood Co., NC in 1860. I cannot find them in 1870. In 1880 they are in Brown Co., TX. In 1900 they are in Callahan Co., TX. In 1910, John's wife Abigail is listed as a widow, living with her son, Jeremiah Teague, still in Callahan Co., TX. So John died between 1900 and 1910. He is probably buried somewhere in Callahan Co. TX.

Can you tell me more about his military service? What unit he was in, etc.?
