They are the Texas 6th Field Artillery Battery
Nickname: Austin Light Artillery

Organized in June 1861. Mustered in on Oct. 14th,1861.
It was armed with two 24-lb. Howitzers and four 12lb. Napoleons in August 1862. Designated as the 6th Field Battery on November 19th,1864. It was armed with two 24-lb. Howitzers and two 12lb. Napoleons in May 1865.
Surrendered by Gen. E. K. Smith on May 26th 1865.

First Commander: Captain H. Willke
Captains: R. W. Yates & Samuel W. Allen
