not Kitchens, but Kitchings m-Sam & Alf Johnson

Karla Johnson,

I only have part of the skinny on one Johnson family of early North Texas. ..Below are my "Johnson" entries in my 134-page Name Index. Please let me know what the initials represent.

Alfred Johnson (of Johnson’s Spy Company, CSA) m-Melissa Kitching while his brother, Sam Johnson m-Melinda Kitching. ..These Kitching sisters' father established Fort Kitching that was later called Warren, now Fannin Co TX. ..This Sam Johnson established Fort Johnson (renamed Georgetown for George Robertson Reeves) that was 4 miles north of Pottsboro, now Grayson County.

Samuel Johnson was a lieutenant in Bourland's Ranging Company that participated in the 1841 Battle of Village Creek (see the militia listing on vIp21 of my book that questions Alfred Johnson being the illegible name.)

If you’ll send me your e-mail address, I’ll send you an article about this Johnson family in “jpeg” format. ..I don’t know how to put it on this page. ..My great friend Mike Thompson studies this Johnson family and is an expert on Alf Johnson’s Spy Company.
