flag descriptions - Missouri State Guard

Hello,

I might have - I will have to pull the folders and see. I know I do not have much on Missouri CS flags as hardly anyone has bothered to go through the 1861-1862 newspapers and dig them out - which is my primary source. Another way to find them is in the CW chapters of the various county history books. Some of those can be real treasure troves while others almost pretend there wasn't a Civil War.

Offhand, I cannot recall if any of the MSG flags I have found mention of actually match the 1861 pattern as described by Gen. Sterling Price - at least none that have survived to date! I have seen mentions of MSG flags in the book on the Battle of Carthage as well as a few wartime newspaper battle accounts - a blue flag with state coat of arms on it. Often it is only described as being "the flag of Missouri."

Let me do some digging - please email me privately as this is the Texas board.
