Apparently, companies from Parson's Texas Cav Brigade (12th Tex Cav) and 19th Texas Cav were sent about Oct 28, 1863 to Winn and Jackson Parishes, Louisiana, to round up deserters & conscripts & break up the bands of jayhawkers. Does anyone know where I can find a detailed history of the 19th's regiment? Who was Col. A. B. Burleson, the leader of this assignment?
