This would have to be Col. E. B. Nichols' 9th Texas (a six month unit) and not Maxey's, the latter being raised in north Texas. As to the company called "Galveston Zuaves", it might be Company C, which was organized there, although there were probably several companies in Nichols' regiment hailing from that area.
