need help identifying flag

I was at a family reunion yesterday (my cousin's family on the other side). When he heard about my genealogy interest, he asked me for help identifying a flag on his great-grandfather's headstone. His description was that it was a "Texas flag with CSA on it". However, his ancestor wasn't in TX during the war...he was in AL. My "genie angel" went out and got me a couple of pics of the headstone and I'm totally stumped. Hopefully someone here can help, even though I'm sure he wasn't in the CSA (born in May 1851). The flad is designed like the Texas flag...star in field on left and 2 stripes on right. It's a pink granite/marble stone, so there doesn't appear to be any other color. In the top stripe on the right are the letters U B. In the bottom stripe is the letter A. Any clues what this might be for?
