William "Bill ' Voyles 31st Tex Cav

Bill Voyles was my great grandfather. He enlisted in Co H of the 31st Tex. Cav at fort Washita Ok. in April of 1862 for the war. He was appointed a wagon teamster( This was his business before the war)
His unit was envolved in the battles of Port Hudson..Prarie Grove, Mansfield, peach orchard and yellow Bayou.
His unit disbanded in Houston at the wars end. He took a mule from his wagon ( It was likely his mule ) and headed for Greenville texas. Near Henderson he came accross his old friend Green Chafin sick on the side of the road. He let Green Ride the mule and together they made their way home.
He had 5 brothers Nick, Rudolph,Sam,John and Lons .Lons was killed in the battle of Yellow Bayou Sam died of fever near the end of the war. Bill had several children of his first wife Celia of which I know little or nothing
Nancy, Octave Creed,Barbra ,Sallie, Steve, Bertha and Minnie .Upon Celias death Bill remarried Emily Hale this union produced my Grandmother Lona Ray Voyles.
Should anyone know of the decendants of any of these children or family members..please contact me.
