Holmes, Lt, TX Rangers, CSA

In the Santa Rosa (CA) Rural Cemetery is the Holmes plot. There were two Charles H Holmes , father and son. Son has a Sp-Am war grave marker. We know his father was listed in 1919 in local paper on Mem. Day roster as being in the TX Rangers, CSA, during the war. This is the Rangers that fought Indians mostly and not the famous Terry's Rangers. I found him on a TX site as a Lt when he went in TR 1859 and no other findings. We are sure that he is buried with his son and their wives ( all recorded as such) even though there is only the one marker in the plot. I found by grave dowsing a male next to Jr and two females at their feet. Someone put up a wooden unmarked grave marker at the site of the 2nd male in recent years. I have no dates for Sr and therefore cannot research our old newspaper files for his Obit to get more information.

Anybody who might have any additional info, please post here or come direct to me at clcmlc@sbcglobal.net. If I can get the dates I can get him a VA marker. My good friends from the local SCV/UDC and I will then do a grave marker dedication ceremony for him..
