I am a direct decendant of this O'Neal and Mr. McFarland and I have corresponded several times in recent years. Wilson O'Neal and his son John Clayton O'Neal were both members of the Texas State Troops. John subsituted in for his father Wilson when he became ill. I am the fourth Wilson in the line, the other two being my grandfather Wilson Samuel and his son (my uncle) Wilson Shermer. The first Wilson is my gg grandfather and John Clayton is my great grandfather.
