I could find on one R. Finley in Texas units. I also did searches for R. Finly and R. Finley, no joy. I did find a Reuben Finley in the 1st Cherokee. Do not know how to further gain information on this unit.

He is not listed in the roster for the 5th Texas Cavalry.

Reuben Finley. He was with the 5th Texas* and taken prisoner in Albuquerque on April 15, 1862. He was exchanged September 1862 after being taken to Camp Douglas

Sergeant Company A, Anderson's Texas Cavalry Regiment, March 1865 "On detached service bearer of despatches [sic] to Marshall by order of Col. Border since Feb. 12, 1865, [Note there are no muster rolls on file for this organization]
