I am looking for background information on Dr John O. Scott. I found several newspaper articles written by him ca 1897-1900 in the Fort Worth Morning Register dealing with various Texas topics during the WBTS. He was living in Sherman at the time. One article says he came from Kentucky and was connected by marriage to the Breckinridges. There is some information in one of his articles that I have not seen before, and I want to establish his credibility as an historian to allow me to properly weight his work, particularly when he quotes letters by Confederate Field Officers.
