I found two engagements in the Arizona Territory for April 15, 1862, see below.

Indeed Thomas Green's 5th Texas was involved.

I did a search of Vol. 9 of the OR for the term "Cherokee," no hits.

I would think a look at the CSRs for the 1st Cherokee should put this search to rest. They are located in M258, Roll 78 or 79. I do
not have access these rolls.
