I'll check next visit to the library. IMHO existence of a CSR for Reuben Finley in the 1st Cherokee Mounted and not in the 5th Texas Mounted backs up information found in the POW roll. The POW record that Kay referenced infers that Reuben Finley was captured near Fort Gibson in the Indian Territory. In any case, the Camp Douglas record definitely does not report him captured in New Mexico.
