Add to your figures for losses of Texas units at Elkhorn Tavern (Pea Ridge) the following from the 9th found in Grissom's diary:
Col Sims was seaverly wounded when a mini ball splintered his forearm. He stayed with the unit for a few weeks but was no longer effective.(Lt George Grissom became Adjutant of the 9th an maintained a diary through the war.)

Less than 50 horses lost.
The only time I see any question of Griscom's figures was in Georgia during McCook and Killpatrick's raids when Ross' headquarters was over run twice and they all (the several writers of these regiments) seemed to be worded spelled.
The figures for the 3 and 6th look in line with their combat. The 4th Battalion would later become Witfield's Legon (actually 27th Texas Cavalry Regiment with 12 Companies.) Very little has be found about this units combat at Elkhorn. They were with the 9th and were located with McClough's and McIntosh's Division. After the loss of the two generals and the capture of the commander of the Louisiana 4th, Col. Sims would have been ranking but was not fit for battle. LT Col Quale was not senior at that point and command presence was lost.
