Major J.B. "Buck" Barry had a soldier drown in the Brazos River. ..McCord's men crossed the Brazos River many times and I understand that many soldiers did not know how to swim.

My great grandfather, John Lindemann was killed during the civil War. One story through an uncle has it that he was killed while crossing a river. Another has it that he was killed at the battle of Pea Ridge. If anyone out there has any information on John Lindemann, please contact me.
