In the summer of 1954, according to an article in 1955 edition of the Jefferson County WV Historical Society Magazine, two descendents of Capt. Redmond Burke, a Mrs. Sam Smith of Waco and her daughter Mrs Jewel Homes of Houston, visited Shepherdstown, WV to talk with town residents about the exploits of the heroic scout. I am interested in talking to these ladies or their descendents in reference to a book I'm writing. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
