Pvt. William J. Cullpeper enlisted At Henderson, Rusk Co., Texas March 1,1862, in Co F, 17th Texas Cavalry (Moores's Regt.)joined the Company May 22,1862. He was at Arkansas Post, Ark. but was not captured, There are several card all stating that he is west of the Miss. River.
The ones who escaped capture where put in the 17th Consolidated Texas Cavalry Dismounted.
