Googling for information on the history of the 14th Tx Cavalry has produced few results. It was the first regiment Johnson recruited, but later became part of Johnson's Brigade consisting of five regimets numbered 14th through 18th. In another research effort, I am finding several men of the 14th who reenlisted in another unit in the spring and summer of 1863. Can anyone shed light on the reason these men changed units? Thank you.
