Ok, it has been awhile since my last post. But I have looked at the other witnesses pension records and will explain below starting with my G G Grandfather Mabry W. Wafer. Any other information would be greatly appreciated.

Mabry W. Wafer

Joined - Co. C 1st Texas Partisan Rangers Cavalry in Wood County Texas July 17th 1862. He Served until the end of the war & surrendered at Marlin, Texas on April 1865. It states that he was transferred to post duty in April 1863 in Shreveport Louisiana. (According to our family stories it has been said the he had survived the “Yellow Fever” and was posted to a military hospital in Shreveport Louisiana).

The two witnesses on Mabry’s pension records state that they served in the same Company & Regiment as he did. Below are the details for each witnesses according to their pension records. Also, my GG Grandfather was a witness to service for both of the men listed below as they were to his.

B.M. Rainwater

Question: State in what company and regiment you enlisted in the Confederate army, and the time of your service?

Answer: Co. C Lanes regiment First Partisan Texas Rangers, from Hunt County, Texas. John Thompson was Captain.

There were two other witnesses to B.M Rainwater’s pension record other that Mabry Wafer. The one that did not a witness to Mabry’s record was a name of T.L. Trimble.

S.J. Coker (Squire J. Coker)

Question: State in what company and regiment you enlisted in the Confederate army, and the time of your service?

Answer: First Texas & Partisan Rangers - Company C 3 years.
