Below, between the rows of asterisks, is an informative e-mail that I received that may interest "Capt. W.G. Moseley" researchers, who, I presume, studies the last 1-1/2 years of the War on the North and West Frontier.

.
William G. Moseley was a relative of mine. .. He, according to my family records was the brother of Amos Moseley, of Burleson County, my great-great grandfather. ...This is based on one entry in the Moseley Family Bible. .. Said Bible is now in the hands of one Donald Moseley (My first cousin) now residing in Vera Cruz, Mexico.
.
According to that document, most of the Moseleys in Texas crossed the Sabine River on Sept. 1, 1845.

I don't know if this is any help, or even how accurate the source is.
.
Amos Moseley and his son Augustus Came to Texas from Augusta, Georgia, via Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana and settled in Burleson County, Texas.....Amos went to Mexico with Winfield Scott in 1847, and operated a ferry on the Brazos around Caldwell..
