Re: Martins 5th Partisan Rangers
Hello,
I am trying to find info on John Filo Fairchild 33, enlisted for 3 years on July 19, 1862 as a Corporal in Martin’s Regiment, Texas Cavalry (5th Partisan Rangers) Company H ,
(Film #M227, Roll 11). John rode 80 miles to rendezvous point in Greenville, Texas to meet up with L. H. Martin Rangers. His receipt for items he arrived with included a horse valued at $115.00 and $20.00 of equipment to include a saddle, rifle, and canteen. Family believe he died May 1863 at Fort Washita OK but I have not been able to find any info on where and when L.H. Martins Cavalry engaged in combat. Any inofrmation would be appreciated.
