This is my first post to this site and am glad to find a site that has all the information on T E X A S in the War of Northern Oppression. My people have been in Polk County since 1835 and are still there. My ancestors John and Hezikiah Williams were mustered in K Co. 5th Texas Inf. and Frederick Jackson Williams into Terry's Reg. of the Texas State Troopers mustered in Polk County.Does anyone have any info on these Units; I can't seem to locate much.
