As far as I can tell from my past reserach is that the 1860 census of John F. Fairchild in Hunt County that you refered to, is not in my direct line. (Both John F. Fairchild was about the same age) Very Interesting. (Even more interesting was one of the children on the Hunt census was named Arminita which was one of our family names of which I haven't ran across except for our family, Arminta Wickson).
Now what I am not sure of now is copies of information that we have that listed John F. Fairchild 33, as enlisting on July 19, 1862 in "Martins Reg't Cav-Texas" in Greenville, TX and Mustered in at Ft Washita on Aug 28, 1862. Another copy shows John F. Fairchild being absent without leave from May 1, 1863 on a Company Muster Roll of Jan 1-June 30, 1863. No pension application was ever filed.
Question: Did the information of John F. Fairchild married to Loadan living in Hunt Co in 1860 come out of your Civil War Index???? If so, is there any way you can email a copy of the page or tell me how to get documentation to prove who the wife was of John F. Faichild that was in Martins 5th Calvery who enlisted on July 19, 1862?
This has raised some very interesting quesions, I will be anxiously awaiting your answer.
Thanks for taking the time to answer.
