Re: Savage beef contract; 22d Cav-lst Indian TX Re

Hi there,
I have only one question. Is your Hiram William Savage the uncle of Hiram Thomas Savage? I've been trying to verify his Civil War service.
Ancestry has Private Hiram Savage recorded TWICE on the roster for 22nd Regiment, Texas Cavalry (1st Indian-Texas Regiment).
Both CWSSS and Ancestry have recorded in Co. B, Private James K. Savage, Private John J. Savage, Private Luke W. Savage, and 2nd Lieutenant Samuel B. Savage. It appears that Luke, John, and Samuel were most likely your Hiram William's sons, and that James and Hiram Thomas Savage were their cousins. I'm not certain about that.
Hiram Thomas Savage was born Dec. 21, 1843 in Dade Co., Missouri and died Jan. 21, 1918 and is buried in Greenleaf Cemetery in Brownwood, Brown Co, Texas. He married Susan Catherine Roberts Dec. 15, 1870 in Fannin Co., Texas. His parents were James Robins Savage and Catherine Louisa (Jamison) Savage. Thank you so much, Cathey Cline
