My gg-grandfather, William C. Smith, was born in 1843 in Brazoria County , the grandson of Old Three Hundred pioneer, Cornelius Smith. William served in the 4th Texas Cavalry under Capt. William Hardeman in New Mexico and Louisiana . He died around 1885 in the area of Luling, Caldwell County , but I have never found his grave.
