One document records he enlisted March 21, 1862 in Washington Co., another states he mustered in Apr 5, 1862 at Camp Hebert, Hempstead, TX.

The final record states he was transferred by special order #40 on March 20, 1863 to "Sappers & Miners" (?) Corps. I may not be reading this correctly.
