Michael, I believe you may be right about Bill Wilson but I know you are right about Jesse W. James. While Bloody Bill Anderson didn't "fake" his death in October, 1864, our group has proven that the body on his horse was misidentified after the ambush and Anderson took advantage of that misidentifation to live a long and prosperous life in frontier central Texas. This wasn't the first time the Yankees misidentified him. It happened at least twice before.
